Is your $55 mow actually making money?
Mowing contracts, installs and seasonal work all carry different margins. We close your books by the 10th, show profit by service line, and handle the Texas sales tax most lawn care owners don't know they owe.
What's different about your books
Lawn care books have three traps
Margin, helpers and sales tax. We watch all three every month.
Thin mowing margins
Two people, 30 minutes on site and 20 minutes driving can leave a $55 mow with about $10. Job costing shows where.
Seasonal helpers
Cash, Venmo and Zelle helpers need W-9s, and $2,000+ in 2026 means a 1099-NEC.
Sales tax
Texas generally taxes lawn care and landscaping. The exemption is narrow: you alone, no employees, $5,000 or less over four quarters.
Winter cash
Slow months hit hard. A 90-day cash view tells you what's coming.
Equipment
Mowers, trailers and trucks need to be recorded right for your CPA.
Installs vs. maintenance
Installs look big but carry materials risk. Maintenance is steady. Know which pays.

Questions
Straight answers
Do I have to charge sales tax on lawn care in Texas?
Generally yes. Texas treats mowing, trimming, planting, fertilizing and similar work as taxable. The exemption applies only if you do the work yourself, have no employees or helpers, and took in $5,000 or less from it over the last four quarters.
How do I know if a mowing route is profitable?
Try our free Job Profit Calculator on the home page, then let us track it monthly by service line on Growth.
Can you work with Jobber or LMN?
Yes. We match your field software's invoices and payments to your books.
